Mission Statement.
In today’s society the need for a superhero has created a significant void in the hearts of our community. This void effects one demographic significantly more than any other group, the youth. Contemporary role models seem to be limited to those in positions of entertainment, Athletes, Rappers, Actors & Actresses. Though some of these individuals serve as excellent role models, it restricts the dreams and aspirations of the next generation who are indoctrinated to believe the only way they can increase their socioeconomic status is via a role in entertainment This has created a rise in the anti-intellectual culture that disproportionately effects the African American Community, which inevitably leads to less life opportunities This lack of opportunities is the foundation of Conversations on Race Relations in America & The topic of Social Equality is arguably the most prevalent & influences the political climate in an unprecedented manner. Though this issue at a surface level would assumably transcend partisanship, far too often this dialogue fails to remain apolitical, leading to inertia as the two major parties fail to agree on the root causes of social inequality as well as the potential solutions. The mission of The Ivy Foundation is to provide that solution, a herculean task to say the least. but this will be done as The Ivy Foundation will personify the proverbial quote by Marcus Aurelius “Waste No More Time Arguing About What a good man should be, Be one. We no longer want a seat at the table, we have decided that the table is not a setting fit for an organization whose mission is change. Change must occur via relationships, thru mentorship and thru intellectual empowerment. The purpose & mission of The Ivy Foundation is to provide at-risk teens and the adults they mature into with a sense of unity, purpose, discipline and process. The Ivy Foundation believes that the true panacea to Social Inequality is thru service. By providing individuals with resources & networks conducive to their aspirations for a better future, to provide them with positive role models that can both sympathize & empathize with the individual and by providing them with one of the most powerful gifts known to man, Hope
